This is a collaborative effort among members of
ModelMinority.com to document racism in the Asian American experience. It is permanently under construction, and you can help by working on items in the
To Do List, or you can just read what's been written thus far in the
Guide.

Tiki Wiki Tutorials
All I know about Tiki Wiki I learned from
these videos. I assume that you and I are equally capable of watching videos and therefore will not offer or provide any technical support. Hint: "Editing a Wiki page" would seem to be worth watching.
Another useful tutorial device is the "Wiki Help" button, which appears under the editing window of the
Sandbox.
If you're new to the whole Wiki concept, visit
Wikipedia's tutorial pages. The Tiki Wiki syntax (for linking, etc.) is somewhat different, and you'll need to learn those differences, but the basic principles are the same, and Wikipedia's as good a place as any to get your feet wet. You can also practice in the Sandbox (click the link at left).
Formatting Issues
All statements of fact should be cited to references wherever possible. Articles should normally conclude with a list of references, with articles on the main site cited first. Before citing an article, check the
Search Engine to see whether it is on the main site. An example of the proper citation format is
Karen Lin and Jonathan Chan, "Need- Blind Admission Needed to Diversify Asian Community,"
The Tufts Daily, March 9, 2005 (
MM 999).
Due to a quirk in the software, Tiki Wiki assumes that a contiguous word with at least one internal capitalized letter is intended as a link to a new Wiki page. Hyphens do not break contiguity. Therefore, put a space after any hyphen preceding a capital letter: e.g., all- American. Also, never put a hyphen in the terms Asian American, African American, etc., regardless of whether you are using them as nouns or adjectives.
More will be added here as issues arise.
