Hello, everyone! A year has passed, and it's time to turn over the reins to a
new board. If you have great ideas for the future of NAAAP-NC, or if you want
some different activities that we didn't have, here's your chance!
The elections will be for the positions of President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We are in the process of finding a location for the elections, which will take place in late February. Once elected, the 3 will choose or invite additional board members to serve on committees. Don't be hesitant to nominate yourself. You must be a current, paid NAAAP-NC member to nominate someone, and all people running must be current, paid NAAAP-NC members. Have you forgotten to pay your dues? Dues are now just $20, and you can pay at any NAAAP event, or contact me or our treasurer, Tom at songvich@us.ibm.com, to arrange payment by mail. To nominate someone or yourself, BY FEBRUARY 9th, email to judy@unclaw.com a 2-6 sentence description of the nominee and why s/he should be President, Secretary, or Treasurer. This information will be compiled for and printed on the ballots. At the election, each candidate will have a chance to make a brief statement and take questions. Here is a description of responsibilities: President: The president shall preside at all meetings of the board and the membership and, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of president and such other duties as are prescribed by the board. Secretary: The secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the membership and the board in one or more books provided for the purpose; see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these by-laws or as required by law; be custodian of the corporate records and seal of NAAAP-NC; and in general, perform all duties incident to the office of scretary and such other duties as may be assigned by the president or the board. In the absence of the president, the secretary shall rpeside over any meeting of the membership or over any board meeting. Treasurer: The treasurer shall have charge of and be responsible for the maintenance of adequate books of account; have charge and custody of all funds of the organization and be responsible therefore for receipt and disbursement; and, perform all duties incident to the office of treasurer and such duties that may be assigned by the president of the board. In the absence of the president and the secretary, the treasurer shall preside over any meeting of the membership or over any meeting of the board. Friday, January 24.
