I was wondering more if anybody went to the extent that the students mentioned in the article have. I don't mean joining extra clubs or whatever. Did anybody really move to another school district or do something "unusual", i.e. beauty pageant, in order to be noticed? And though it's a common logical fallacy, don't overgeneralize. Unless you have spoken to every single person to have ever gone into college, you don't know for certain if "Everybody" has done this.
