Re: Ode to Smart, Strong and Sexy Asian American Men (Score: 1) by poisenedrice on Thursday, May 06 @ 17:57:56 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | I know missmel, I'm just reeling from the shock of reading a pro AM editorial by an AF, that's all. Needless to say, it's refreshing to see an Asian women giving props to AMs in a sea of Amy Tans, Maxine Hong Kingstons, and Michelle Kwans.
BTW, I saw your xanga; not only are you giving props to AMs and hot, but your hobby is drinking as well.
God, I think I'm in love. |

Damn right! Its about time... (Score: 1) by Bubbly on Saturday, May 08 @ 05:42:14 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | | All I can say is, damn right...its about time someone gave props to Asian American men. In fact, I think there needs to be more...not only AFs but XFs in general who can stand up for them, and see the truth behind all the garbage the media is feeding us. As a white female, it aggravates me when people question why I would be interested in an Asian guy...perhaps they're buying into these generalizations and stereotypes as well? I've even gotten the comments like, "why would you want to date an Asian guy, they have small dicks," like what was mentioned in the article. It makes me so frustrated. But at least I can realize that for once, reality- that being the reality of strong, smart, sexy Asian American men being out there- that reality is actually so much better than what we see in the movies. The actual reality of it makes me smile, cause they are out there...we just need to let other people know about this reality too. |
