The benefit of being active on the school level is education and awareness: so many Asian kids are APAthetic because they just are not informed about the issues. Would you believe that in the AMEL302 class this semester, a lot of people did not know who Vincent Chin was?
So in pressing the University to establish an Asian American Studies program, in bringing more Asian students into ASU, in making ASU more meaningful as a social AND activist organization, we are raising awareness of our issues and needs!
